What happens when there is a fare increase?

If a fare increase occurs and WiredCommute is aware of the change before the cutoff cycle on the 10th (or 4th in certain cities), WiredCommute will make adjustments to the prices in the system and the orders will automatically update.

If there is a fare increase and WiredCommute is not aware until after the 10th (or 4th in some cities), then the rate remains the same for that month. In the following month, a retroactive rate increase would be applied to the participants order. For example, if Bob Smith orders a pass for $12.00 and the price increases to $13.00 after the 10th, the following month he will be charged $14.00 to compensate for the previous months fare increase.

If the rate increase pushes your amount over the IRS pre-tax limit, an after-tax deduction will be taken from your paycheck automatically.
